The founder of DONKEY bags, Wara Juana Gutierrez-Mamani, who is of Dutch and Bolivian descent, describes the Donkey brand as “lively, unpretentious luxury”. Wara has worked for 7 years in high end fashion with companies including Dover Street Market and Colette. She believes the newly launched line is driven by light-hearted romanticism.

All DONKEY bags are uniquely handmade in Bolivia from recyclable material, ensuring that no two are the same. Thanks to a collaboration with a local fair trade production house, Bolivian citizens are employed to make each bag, resulting in beautifully colored, charismatic and instinctive designs. *

Donkey bags are lightweight, spacious and strong. They are available in an array of colors and in three sizes: TinyTiny, Midi and Poppins.
*Unlike many others in the fashion industry, DONKEY bags are produced in Bolivia by people who get paid well and who are well treated and respected as human beings, thanks to the collaboration with a local fair trade production house.
